THIS HORSEMAN BILLIKEN DOLL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT IS A REPRODUCTION OF THE BILLIKENS INVENTED IN 1905 OR 1906 BY KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI'S FLORENCE PRETZ WHO WAS AN ART TEACHER AND ILLUSTRATOR. SHE DID NOT FILE FOR A PATENT UNTIL 1908. THIS DOLL HAS ITS ORIGINAL WRIST HORSEMAN TAG. ON THE BACK OF THE NECK IT IS MARKED BK 12 F. UNDER THIS MARKING IS THE HORSEMAN STAMP.IT HAS MOVABLE ARMS AND LEGS, WHICH WORK PERFECTLY.THE PRETTY PINK BOW IS UNDAMAGED AND IN PLACE.THERE ARE NOT SIGNS OF USE ON THIS SPECIAL GOOD LUCK DOLL. THERE ARE NO TEARS, DIRTY AREAS, OR PLUSH WEAR. IT WAS BELIEVED THE BILLIKEN DOLL COULD BRING A PURCHASER GOOD LUCK, BUT EVEN BETTER LUCK CAME TO A PERSON RECEIVING THE BILLIKEN AS A GIFT.THIS BILLIKEN HAS THE SEWN IN ORANGE AND WHITE TAG IDENTIFYING IT AS #96 OUT OF 1304.PLEASE EXAMINE PHOTOS FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
