Description
This white gold solitaire, probably made in the 1920s or 1930s, has a wire-strung border of tiny pearls and an ornate openwork mounting that features tiny bells at the shoulders and fleur-de-lis on the sides. Tiny little yellow gold bows are applied on the left and right sides and the bows have rose gold "knots."The citrine is a modern replacement for the original stone. It does have a nice high crown and small table, so it doesn't look too anachronistic, and the strong color is striking against the white gold.

Marks
: All marks have been either sized out or worn down; I tested the ring and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
Size
: 6.25, according to the mandrel, but it fits like a 6.5-6.75 because there's some space behind the face of the ring.
Condition
: This is a very old ring, but it's clean and ready for wear, as shown in the photos. At least two of the seed pearls have gone walkies, which is why there's a little gap in both the top and bottom pearl borders. The band shows wear on the sides. There are at least two sizing scars on the band. The gallery along the top (or bottom) of the ring has lost a bit of definition in places, probably due to heat from a torch during repairs or when the stone was replaced. The citrine has some light surface scratches and one deep scratch (that doesn't rise to the definition of a crack) on the outer crown.
